Cook Intern

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time, on-site Cook Intern position based in Streamsong, Florida. This role is ideal for students or individuals pursuing studies in Nutrition or Kinesiology who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a hospitality environment.

What you'll do#

• Prepare food items according to production requirements, quality standards, and recipe cards.
• Execute cooking methods including grilling, frying, and sautéing while ensuring consistent quality.
• Set up and stock food stations, including prep work such as cutting, chopping, and mixing ingredients.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by sanitizing surfaces and following proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Perform inventory checks, complete food storage logs, and monitor par levels to report shortages.
• Assist in managing food costs by controlling waste and usage in accordance with standard operating procedures.

What you'll need#

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to comply with food sanitation requirements, including proper food handling and storage.
• Capability to maintain the cleanliness and sanitization of cooking surfaces.
• Proficiency in performing inventory checks and maintaining accurate food logs.
• Ability to assist in implementing plans to address food cost issues and minimize waste.
