About the role#
We are hiring a Cook Intern to join our team in Streamsong, Florida. This is a full-time, paid, rolling internship. You will work on-site to assist with daily culinary operations and food preparation.
What you'll do#
- Prepare food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods according to recipes and portion standards.
- Set up and stock food stations with necessary supplies.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including sanitizing cooking surfaces at the end of your shift.
- Handle food properly and ensure correct storage of all perishables.
- Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs.
- Assist in controlling food waste, loss, and usage according to standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Nutrition or Kinesiology program.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to follow food sanitation requirements and safety protocols.
- Experience with inventory management and food storage logs.
- Capability to help identify and address food cost or waste issues.
