About the role#
This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Streamsong, Florida. The role involves hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment, focusing on food preparation, inventory management, and maintaining high standards of kitchen safety and sanitation.
What you'll do#
- Prepare food items according to production requirements, quality standards, and established recipe cards.
- Execute cooking methods including grilling, frying, and sautéing based on server orders.
- Set up and stock food stations, ensuring consistent portion standards.
- Perform prep work such as cutting, chopping, and mixing ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including sanitizing cooking surfaces at the end of each shift.
- Conduct inventory checks and complete food storage logs.
- Monitor food usage to help control waste, loss, and food costs per standard operating procedures.
- Rotate perishables, ensure proper storage temperatures, and date all food containers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant field such as Nutrition or Kinesiology.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to comply with strict food sanitation and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in maintaining clean and sanitized cooking environments.
- Capability to track inventory, manage food logs, and assist in food cost control measures.
