About the role#
The Agronomy Intern works with the Superintendent and the agronomy team to maintain golf course grounds and equipment. This position provides hands-on experience with turf care and helps the team meet quality standards for course presentation. You will rotate among different courses according to a set training plan.
What you'll do#
- Carry out turf and grounds maintenance, including fertilizing, aerating, and pest management.
- Maintain drainage, irrigation, and water management systems.
- Assist with planting and general care of turf across the property.
- Clean and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Keep work areas, including storage and repair spaces, clean and organized.
- Handle chemicals and fertilizers according to safety regulations and disposal procedures.
- Maintain accurate records for maintenance schedules and chemical applications.
- Attend team meetings and work with experienced professionals.
- Support the implementation of the operating plan.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Turfgrass Maintenance or Soil Sciences program.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and handle multiple tasks under pressure with minimal supervision.
- A positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required.
