About the role#
The Litigation Operations (LitOps) team sits at the center of our firm. We bridge the gap between legal practice, technology, and operations. As a Summer Associate, you will spend 8 to 10 weeks during Summer 2027 working on mission-critical initiatives. This role is for a JD-MBA student interested in the intersection of law, technology, and business operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform complex quantitative and qualitative analysis to support litigation strategy.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools.
- Contribute to product development and the design of client-facing apps and forms.
- Coordinate large-scale communications campaigns and workstreams involving evidence review and records collection.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to guide operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with attorneys, operations professionals, and fellow LitOps team members.
- Own at least one major project, including evaluating business questions and suggesting solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a JD-MBA program.
- Understanding of legal concepts central to mass litigation, such as torts and evidence.
- Structured, analytical mindset with quantitative instincts and knowledge of basic statistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in an analytical role.
- Experience at a consulting firm is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a compensation of $3,000 per week.
- The role is based on-site in either our Chicago, Illinois or Washington, D.C. office.
