About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Mechanical Engineering Co-op position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Cincinnati, Ohio, supporting our engineering team in the research, design, testing, and validation of product solutions. This role is designed to help you gain practical experience while contributing to project deliverables.
What you'll do#
- Generate design concepts for products, parts, and assemblies.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and develop product documentation to support production.
- Incorporate design changes based on feedback and manage your own project timelines.
- Perform experiments and testing to support product development.
- Use 3D printers and model shop equipment to build prototypes and breadboards.
- Participate in research and brainstorming teams, including observing user research inputs.
- Maintain laboratory facilities and propose process improvements for quality and cost.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Intermediate knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of geometric tolerance analysis, manufacturing processes, and tooling requirements.
- Proficient in documentation, dimensioning, and specification writing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a critical thinking mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively, accept constructive feedback, and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent oral communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Prior experience in an engineering design or manufacturing environment is preferred.
