About the role#
We are looking for an AI Engineer Intern to join our team in Dallas. This role supports our AI and machine learning projects by building and maintaining components of our data infrastructure. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to gain practical experience with generative AI, large language models, and the systems that support them. This is a hands-on learning position focused on skill development and project support.
What you'll do#
- Assist in building, testing, and fine-tuning components of generative AI and LLM-based applications.
- Support experimentation with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and model fine-tuning.
- Write clean, documented Python code for scoped tasks like data preprocessing and evaluation utilities.
- Build and maintain data pipelines used for training and evaluating models.
- Learn deep learning concepts and apply them to guided project tasks.
- Research and summarize recent papers or techniques in generative AI, LLMs, or AIOps.
- Explore vector embeddings and vector storage approaches.
- Participate in team meetings, stand-ups, and design discussions.
- Work alongside data scientists and engineers to understand project requirements.
- Present your progress and small deliverables to the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
- Coursework or project experience using Python.
- Experience with at least one machine learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or Hugging Face Transformers.
- A basic understanding of deep learning fundamentals like neural networks, model training, and evaluation metrics.
- Familiarity with or an interest in generative AI and LLM concepts.
- Knowledge of basic software engineering practices including version control with Git, writing readable code, and testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to learn and take direction.
- Good communication skills.

- This is an on-site internship located in Dallas, Texas.
- The position is paid at $25 per hour.
- This is a full-time role with a rolling term.
