This is an exclusive DoD SkillBridge internship opportunity for U.S. military members currently serving on active duty. Participants remain employees of the Department of Defense throughout the duration of the program. This role serves as a pipeline for those interested in transitioning into a career in construction management.
What you'll do#
- Support the Project Manager with the administration of project cost and scheduling systems.
- Manage document control and shop drawing systems.
- Facilitate the flow of information between the design team, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Support estimating functions for project changes and addenda.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of organization and attention to detail.
What you'll need#
- Current active duty status with at least 180 days of service.
- Eligibility to participate during the final six months of military service prior to separation or retirement.
- Expected honorable discharge.
- Completion of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP/TGPS) and an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
- Written authorization and approval from a Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander).
- Demonstrated interest in the construction industry, with a background in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or Architecture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); experience with Microsoft Project and Procore is preferred.
