About the role#
The Business Development Representative Intern finds, qualifies, and drives new leads into the Jonas Hospitality sales funnel. You will work alongside Regional Sales Directors to manage sales orders, process contracts, and handle lead qualifications. This role requires maintaining a master sales plan that outlines your strategy for B2B outreach and opportunity management.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and maintain a comprehensive sales plan to target prospects in North America.
- Build and manage databases as needed.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Directors on prospecting efforts.
- Research and qualify business opportunities to determine prospect needs.
- Bridge the gap between marketing and sales by following up on campaigns and creating new interest-based outreach.
- Qualify, sell, and close smaller B2B opportunities.
- Learn to demonstrate Jonas Hospitality solutions and serve as a backup to application consultants.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market activities, and competitor products.
- Use social media to drive brand awareness and source leads.
- Complete 50 to 100 outbound sales calls per day.
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops and publications.
What you'll need#
- A 4-year college degree in Business Administration or Communications is preferred.
- Previous experience on a sales team, specifically in hospitality sales, is preferred.
- Hotel operations experience is ideal.
- Comfort speaking on the phone with clear tonality and speed.
- Experience with Windows, MS Office, and Salesforce.com.
- Ability to learn technical details regarding hardware and third-party software.
- A driven, hunter mentality with a desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work well both individually and as part of a team.
- Willingness to improve performance through self-study.

- This is a remote position.
- This is a part-time internship with a 25-hour weekly commitment.
- The role is paid and temporary.
