About the role#
The Facilities Management Intern will join the Engineering and Property Services team at the Kentucky Distribution Center. This pharmaceutical distribution facility handles ambient, cold chain, and controlled-substance products. You will gain hands-on experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, capital projects, and compliance-driven operations within a GxP-regulated environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and maintaining site master plans and facility improvement initiatives.
- Update building drawings, utility maps, and facility documentation using AutoCAD.
- Support engineering teams with capital project planning, execution, and tracking.
- Participate in infrastructure assessments for HVAC, refrigeration, fire protection, electrical, and building systems.
- Document meeting minutes, track action items, and support follow-up activities.
- Coordinate with vendors and oversee contractors on workplace improvement projects.
- Support GxP documentation tasks including change controls, preventive maintenance records, and qualification support.
- Contribute to sustainability, decarbonization, and continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on project status, findings, and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Completion of undergraduate freshman year at an accredited university.
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Engineering, or related fields.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site (40 hours per week).
- Paid internship.
