About the role#
This Co-op position supports the optimization and management of spare parts inventory and storage systems in a regulated manufacturing environment. You will focus on improving inventory accuracy, material flow, storage organization, and maintenance processes to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, and based on-site in Añasco, Puerto Rico.
What you'll do#
- Optimize spare parts storage layouts, including organization, labeling, and material flow.
- Analyze maintenance requirements to identify critical spare parts and set appropriate inventory levels.
- Monitor inventory parameters like reorder points, safety stock, and maximum levels.
- Maintain accurate parts information within CMMS systems.
- Perform data analysis to identify optimization opportunities, reduce shortages, and manage obsolete inventory.
- Develop and track KPIs related to inventory accuracy, consumption trends, and stock availability.
- Support 5S and visual management initiatives in storage areas.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, and suppliers.
- Create standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process maps.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and EHS documentation requirements.
What you'll need#
- Completion of undergraduate freshman year at an accredited university.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university during the Co-op term.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.
- Ability to work fully on-site in Añasco, Puerto Rico.
- Preferred: Knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations, or CMMS systems like SAP PM or Maximo.
- Preferred: Experience in regulated manufacturing industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
- Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis tools.
