About the role#
This is an off-campus Federal Work Study position with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Muncie. These roles are funded by Federal Work Study and are available to students vetted through the Financial Aid process. Positions are hired on a per-semester basis, and duties vary depending on the specific department assignment.
What you'll do#
Depending on your assigned area, your responsibilities may include:
- Front Desk: Greet members and visitors, manage entry and exit, handle phone calls and inquiries, maintain records, and support registration and data entry.
- Custodial: Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, and common areas. Tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and supporting event setup.
- Kitchen: Prepare and serve meals and snacks, follow food safety regulations, maintain accurate meal counts, and clean kitchen equipment.
- Program Support: Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in reading and core subjects, assist with homework, track student progress, and serve as a mentor to youth.
What you'll need#
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours per semester.
- Demonstrated financial need with a current, completed FAFSA on file.
- Maintenance of Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Physical ability to meet the requirements of your specific role, which may include lifting up to 25 to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and bending or kneeling.
