Issue One is seeking a Philanthropy Intern for the Fall 2026 semester to support our fundraising department. This role offers hands-on experience in donor relations, event planning, and database management. The intern will work closely with our five-member philanthropy team to advance our mission of bipartisan political reform.
What you'll do#
- Conduct prospect research and prepare briefings for fundraisers and principals ahead of donor meetings.
- Assist in writing and distributing donor communications, event collateral, and impact reports.
- Maintain records, enter data, organize files, and ensure donor database integrity.
- Provide logistical support for event planning.
- Support the philanthropy team with various administrative tasks as requested.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Mac and PC environments, Google Docs/Sheets, and MS Office.
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools, specifically Claude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt to new projects.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026 – December 18, 2026).
- Schedule: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week.
- Modality: Hybrid. Interns may work remotely or on-site in Washington, DC. On-site presence is requested on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Remote interns must reside in California, Colorado, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Utah, Pennsylvania, or Virginia.
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
