About the role#
This internship focuses on how agent-based AI frameworks can support transmission grid planning. You will explore how agent harness and loop engineering can automate repetitive tasks and help planners make informed network expansion decisions. You will work with the Advanced Technology Solutions team to apply emerging technology to energy challenges.
What you'll do#
- Investigate how agent-based workflows can automate repetitive planning tasks.
- Run recursive simulation testing and evaluate multiple scenarios in parallel.
- Manage large, stateful grid datasets.
- Build experience at the intersection of AI, automation, power systems, and infrastructure planning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for electrical engineering, computer science, power systems, artificial intelligence, data science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication.
- Familiarity with PSS®E or PowerWorld is preferred.
- Exposure to AI agent frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, Strands, CrewAI, or AutoGen is a plus.
- Experience working with large datasets is a plus.
