About the role#
As a Database Engineer Intern, you will join the Economic Studies and Environmental Outlook Team. You will support the planning of the electric grid by modernizing how the team stores, accesses, and visualizes analytical results. This role involves working with real-world data and collaborating with professionals who use data-driven insights for long-term power system planning.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop a centralized database for model solution files.
- Create tools that allow users to query, filter, and compare results across multiple study models.
- Build dashboards and visual analytics to make complex data easier to understand.
- Improve how analysts access and evaluate large datasets.
- Support automation initiatives that streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
What you'll need#
- You must be a rising senior or currently enrolled in a four-year or graduate-level academic program.
- Completed at least the first year of college.
- Pursuing a degree in Economics, Data Analytics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
- Experience coding in Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with large datasets and translate data into meaningful insights.
- Interest in data architecture, visualization, analytics, or automation.

- Compensation: $19 to $36 per hour, based on your year in college.
