    About the role#

    As an Electrical Designer Co-op Student, you will join the Engineering Services team to gain hands-on experience in both office and industrial settings. You will work on projects for the Irving Oil Refinery, terminals, and energy transition initiatives. This role involves collaborating with experienced engineers and designers on design development and process improvement tasks.

    What you'll do#

    • Prepare electrical design drawings using AutoCAD, including single line diagrams, motor schematics, and EHT drawings.
    • Create Engineering Work Orders.
    • Prepare procurement documents such as equipment datasheets, specifications, and PPRs.
    • Perform Electric Heat Tracing design calculations.
    • Conduct field verifications.
    • Assist with low and medium voltage power distribution and lighting design.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in the Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Technician course or a related technical discipline.
    • Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education.
    • Status as a student returning to school.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing project needs.
