About the role#
The English Cafe Intern supports the Immigrant Youth team in Miami by providing language practice to youth and adults. This role focuses on delivering social services and building community partnerships. You will report to the Immigrant Youth Program Supervisor.
What you'll do#
- Lead weekly English Cafe sessions for youth and adults.
- Select topics, prepare materials, and create talking points for each session.
- Plan and manage the English Cafe schedule.
- Assist with outreach to local organizations to build community partnerships.
- Create promotional campaigns to encourage client participation.
- Track attendance and collect data related to the program.
What you'll need#
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A desire to help others and work in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Computer literacy and access to the internet.
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
- Preference for students in English, Communications, Psychology, International Relations, or Sociology.
Location & details#
- Location: Miami, Florida.
- Term: Fall 2026, starting the week of September 8, 2026.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
