    About the role#

    The English Cafe Intern supports the Miami-Dade Immigrant Youth team by facilitating sessions designed to help youth and adults practice their English skills. This role involves managing the logistics of the program, engaging with the community, and supporting the delivery of essential services to immigrant children and their families.

    What you'll do#

    • Lead several weekly English Cafe sessions for youth and adult participants.
    • Prepare topics, lesson materials, and talking points for each session.
    • Plan and manage the scheduling of the English Cafe.
    • Assist with outreach to local organizations to establish community partnerships.
    • Create promotional campaigns to increase client engagement.
    • Support data collection and track attendance for the program.

    What you'll need#

    • Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
    • A strong desire to assist others and enthusiasm for working in a multicultural environment.
    • Passion for language education and an interest in international issues.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
    • Computer literacy, specifically with PC systems, and reliable internet access.
    • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Miami, Florida.
    • Term: Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8, 2026.
    • Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
