Student-Patient Care Support-Flat Rate *Carmel High School Students Only* - PRN/Day - Other Adult Mixed Acuity Unit - 5B | North

About the role#

This position is exclusively for Carmel High School students. It offers an opportunity to gain practical patient care experience and develop clinical skills while supporting the healthcare team on an adult mixed acuity unit.

What you'll do#

• Assist with patient mobility and hygiene.
• Provide water to patients and help with meal orders and eating.
• Take patient vital signs.
• Maintain unit operations by stocking supplies and preparing rooms for new admissions.
• Perform linen changes.
• Note: Students will not handle waste from patients receiving hazardous drugs, such as chemotherapy.

What you'll need#

• Must be a currently enrolled student in High School or a higher educational institution, specialized professional training, or vocational training.
• High School students under 17 must be able to obtain an appropriate worker's permit according to Department of Labor regulations.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
