The IU Health Foundation Philanthropy Summer 2026 Internship offers graduate students hands-on experience in healthcare philanthropy. This role provides project-based support across donor communications, grants, and strategic planning, directly contributing to the Foundation’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan. Interns will work on initiatives that strengthen internal operations, improve documentation, and evaluate the impact of priority projects.
What you'll do#
- Track and document progress across the Foundation’s 10 strategic pilot projects, including maintaining status updates, milestones, and deliverables.
- Evaluate and summarize the ROI and impact of pilot projects using both qualitative and quantitative indicators.
- Conduct research on donor-facing communications, including social media, websites, and peer organizations to identify best practices.
- Support internal communications by organizing and enhancing resources to ensure they are clear and professional.
- Assist with documenting standard operating procedures to improve team efficiency and process consistency.
- Provide project-based support for grant activities, including prospect research, proposal development, and impact tracking.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master's program in Philanthropy, Public Health, Psychology, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong written communication skills, with proficiency in editing and proofreading.
- High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated interest in philanthropy, nonprofit operations, communications, strategy, or healthcare.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools and a proactive approach to learning new systems.
Location & details#
- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Commitment: 150 total hours over the summer with a flexible schedule.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
