About the role#
IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week program during Summer 2027. You will work in Scottsdale, Arizona, on a full-time basis. Throughout the program, you will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants on real project work, focusing on the analysis, design, and implementation of electrical systems for buildings. You will contribute to projects in markets such as education, healthcare, and commercial development.
What you'll do#
- Assist with designing systems that meet code and company standards.
- Research equipment and resources to support project needs.
- Maintain project design documentation and record files.
- Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, and mechanical teams.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions.
- Monitor project progress and review documents for accuracy.
- Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
- Conduct job site observations.
- Work within project budgets while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A strong interest in design consulting.
- Exposure to CAD or BIM software.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- Prior internship experience in building design consulting is preferred.
