About the role#
IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for a summer 2027 program in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship. You will work with a team of experienced engineers on the analysis, design, and implementation of electrical systems for buildings. The role focuses on industrial and manufacturing projects, supporting high-performance and energy-efficient designs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design tasks related to electrical systems.
- Support engineering analysis and implementation oversight for building systems.
- Research commercially available equipment and resources.
- Maintain project design notebooks, documentation, and client relations.
- Coordinate design schedules with other disciplines, including structural, mechanical, and technology teams.
- Document design decisions, meeting notes, and client instructions.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and issue addendum information.
- Conduct periodic job site observations.
- Work within established project budgets.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A strong interest in design consulting.
- Previous exposure to CAD or BIM software.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms.
