About the role#
This internship at IMA Financial Group offers hands-on experience within the Commercial Lines department. You will work alongside sales and service teams to gain practical knowledge of the insurance industry. The program includes a core cohort experience combined with specialized projects designed to provide real-world impact.
What you'll do#
- Support production efforts by assisting with new client quoting, proposal preparation, and contributing to coverage summaries, historical loss reviews, and benchmarking analyses.
- Strengthen client servicing operations by working with service teams on data analytics and learning key insurance processes.
- Build industry knowledge by attending sales calls, preparing for licensing, and observing client relationship management.
- Collaborate with producers during client renewals, including participation in meetings and on-site visits.
- Assist with business development and client engagement by supporting tournaments, events, and client get-togethers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management and Insurance.
- Anticipated graduation in Spring 2027, December 2027, or Spring 2028.
- Previous work or internship experience in a professional services or similar environment.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to problem-solve, think critically, and provide creative solutions.
- Interest in insurance-related roles, with preference for involvement in insurance clubs or Gamma Iota Sigma.
Location & details#
- Location: Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on expected graduation year.
- Benefits: Includes paid holidays and five days of LifeBalance PTO.
