About the role#
The W3 Intern role is a full-time, paid summer position based in St. Petersburg, Florida. You will work on-site five days a week. This program provides exposure to the insurance industry through a mix of field shadowing, project-based work, and professional development. We prioritize candidates who are closer to graduation and interested in future employment with our firm.
What you'll do#
- Split your time between shadowing producers and managers and completing projects that support sales, service, and risk management.
- Assist across Personal, Commercial, and Benefits lines by cleaning databases and organizing client information.
- Identify target clients and create outreach strategies to support cross-sell initiatives.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns, including mailings for personal lines and targeted lists for luxury homeowners.
- Conduct prospective client research and participate in direct outreach to generate new business.
- Coordinate with carrier partners to audit claims contact information and generate quotes.
- Attend department and carrier meetings to learn about agency operations and professional relationships.
- Dedicate time to self-paced learning and development to build technical knowledge of the insurance industry.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management and Insurance.
- Expected graduation date in Spring 2027, December 2027, or Spring 2028.
- Interest in insurance-related roles, with preference for those involved in insurance clubs or Gamma Iota Sigma.
- Previous internship or work experience in a professional services environment.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to problem-solve and think critically.
