About the role#
As an EHSS Intern, you will support environmental, health, safety, emergency response, and security tasks. You will work under the supervision of the Gallipolis Ferry Health, Safety, and Environment team. This role involves working across the business, including collaboration with operators, maintenance staff, plant leadership, and corporate support personnel.
What you'll do#
- Assist with EHS record keeping.
- Develop and deliver EHS training.
- Participate in emergency drills and learning team investigations.
- Perform routine safety and environmental inspections.
- Label waste containers for disposal.
- Maintain and update the JHA program.
- Perform equipment calibrations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Safety Studies, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Completion of at least the sophomore year of university study.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to set priorities and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and a high level of motivation.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, or overtime as required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
