    About the role#

As a Release Engineering Intern, you will focus on improving software build and release processes. Your primary goal is to build a functional automation tool that reduces manual effort for the team. You will work directly with engineering, QA, and support teams to identify inefficiencies and refine tools based on their feedback.

    What you'll do#

    • Analyze ticket history in ServiceNow and Jira to find recurring manual tasks suitable for automation.
    • Create a working script, automation, or self-service tool for at least one high-volume ticket type.
    • Assist in maintaining software build and release processes with an emphasis on developer enablement.
    • Support daily ticket triage and release tracking.
    • Document runbooks and known issues.
    • Participate in team standups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited university, advancing to at least your junior year.
    • Pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Basic knowledge of Git.
    • Basic experience with scripting in Python or Bash.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Exposure to CI/CD, ticketing systems like Jira or ServiceNow, and Windows or Unix platforms is helpful but not required.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Jacksonville, Florida.
    • The program runs during the Summer of 2027.
    • You must be available to work five days a week for the full duration of one of the two program schedules: May 24 to August 6 or June 7 to August 20.

How to get in at ICE

Applying early to ICE roles is a clear advantage because recruiters review the first wave of candidates before the applicant pool grows large.
