About the role#
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This position supports our construction and electrical utility services. You will perform general engineering and drafting tasks while gaining hands-on experience in the field.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design of electrical power distribution, lighting, and related systems for commercial, industrial, and substation projects.
- Perform electrical engineering calculations and studies.
- Coordinate with engineering, architectural, and construction disciplines, as well as electric utility companies.
- Conduct field observations and survey activities.
- Execute Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) work.
- Interact with customers to investigate power quality issues and provide recommendations.
- Assist with job takeoff, estimating, and administrative tasks like scanning and assembling print jobs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year full-time BSEE or BSEET program.
- Technical writing skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- A valid driver's license for company business.
- Knowledge or aptitude in AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, and Visual is a plus.
- A genuine interest in the electrical power systems engineering field.
