About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Hawthorne, California, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on major engineering projects that support our manufacturing technology and product development. We expect you to be a self-starter who can adapt to various tasks in an early-stage environment. Strong performance during the internship may lead to a return offer for future work.
What you'll do#
- Design, model, and tolerance composite parts and tooling.
- Prepare raw composite materials and fabricate finished parts.
- Build tooling using steel, aluminum, plastic, or composite materials.
- Set up, operate, and maintain equipment such as presses, ovens, and CNC machines.
- Run mechanical, cosmetic, non-destructive, and destructive tests on components.
- Design and execute experiments for materials and manufacturing processes.
- Build automated systems and robots to support production.
What you'll need#
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by EAR and ITAR regulations.
- Current university student or recent graduate.
- Experience with manufacturing parts using composite, metal, plastic, or wood.
- Background in rapid prototyping with a growth mindset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to integrate feedback.
- Preferred: Rising or graduating senior status.
- Preferred: Proficiency in CAD and DFM for composite parts.
- Preferred: Experience with machine shop tools, CNC programming, robotics, and material characterization.

- Location: Hawthorne, California.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, on-site.
- Compensation: $35 per hour with a housing stipend provided.
