About the role#
HUB International is seeking a Student Programmer Analyst for a four-month work term. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support and enhance a critical internal business application. You will work alongside technology professionals to modernize processes, contribute meaningful features, and gain experience in a large enterprise environment.
What you'll do#
- Act as the primary support resource for an existing internal business application.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve application functionality.
- Define and implement new features based on business requirements.
- Analyze existing application logic and recommend improvements.
- Modernize legacy Excel VBA functionality by transitioning processes into newer technologies.
- Write, test, and document clean, efficient code.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business workflows into technical solutions.
- Participate in application testing, debugging, and deployment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the 3rd or 4th year or Masters program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
- Understanding of software development principles and application architecture.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while taking ownership of projects.
- Experience with Excel VBA is considered an asset.
