About the role#
HUB International is seeking a Student Programmer Analyst to join the team for a four-month work term. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing internal business applications. You will work alongside technology and business professionals to modernize legacy processes, contribute to full-stack development, and gain experience in a large enterprise environment.
What you'll do#
- Serve as the primary support resource for an existing internal business application.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance application functionality.
- Define and implement new features based on business requirements.
- Analyze existing application logic and recommend improvements.
- Modernize legacy Excel VBA functionality by transitioning processes into newer technologies.
- Write, test, and document clean, efficient code.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, logic development, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate workflows into technical solutions.
- Participate in application testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the 3rd or 4th year or a Masters program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
- Understanding of software development principles and application architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivation and a willingness to take ownership of projects.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools is considered an asset.
- Experience with Excel VBA is considered an asset.
