    About the role#

    Hexagon is looking for a Digital Hardware Engineering Intern to join the GNSS Positioning Digital Team in Calgary. This is a 12-month, full-time internship running from May 2027 to May 2028. You will focus on digital hardware design, test development, and hands-on verification to support precision positioning and anti-jamming technologies. You will work with equipment such as spectrum analyzers, GNSS constellation simulators, and oscilloscopes while building automation solutions.

    What you'll do#

    • Automate test setups using Python to control power supplies, thermal chambers, and signal generators.
    • Design, execute, and document product performance tests.
    • Perform signal analysis with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
    • Configure and operate equipment for GNSS and anti-jam system testing.
    • Collect and analyze test data to evaluate system performance.
    • Troubleshoot test failures and conduct root-cause analysis.
    • Support design verification and participate in hardware subsystem reviews.
    • Hand-build and debug test prototypes.
    • Perform component-level qualification testing.
    • Develop test plans and scripts.
    • Write high-quality reports and contribute to process improvements in the laboratory.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an Engineering Internship or Co-op program for Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
    • Completion of at least the second or third year of studies by the start of the term.
    • Strong academic credentials.
    • Proficiency in Python programming.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team.
    • Attention to detail and a first-time-right mindset.
    • Interest in digital hardware design, GNSS, or wireless communications.
    • Familiarity with hardware test equipment and digital design principles.
    • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics.

    • Location: On-site in Calgary, Alberta.
    • Term: 12-month, full-time internship.
    • Compensation: This is a paid position.
