About the role#
Heritage Valley Health System is hiring a Surgical Technologist Extern to work in the Operating Room. This is a part-time, casual role requiring a minimum of 16 hours per month.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct patient care that matches the age, culture, and developmental needs of each patient.
- Work under the direction of Surgical Technologists, Surgeons, and the OR Nurse Manager.
- Apply your knowledge of surgical technique, operative procedures, and operating room technology during patient care.
- Follow established standards of practice for Surgical Technologists.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary Surgical Technology program with the first semester successfully completed.
- A command of the standards of surgical technique.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to complete applicable clearances as outlined in HR policy HR-106 within 90 days of starting.
