About the role#
As an R&D Engineering Intern, you will work within our Adhesive Technologies business unit. This role offers hands-on experience in formulation development and performance testing in a laboratory environment. You will work on projects that contribute to the development of adhesives, sealants, and functional coatings.
What you'll do#
- Create and test product coating formulations to meet performance requirements.
- Conduct experiments and technical procedures to support product development.
- Plan and execute tests to ensure formulations meet critical-to-quality standards.
- Gather and analyze ideas from the R&D team to improve product functionality.
- Evaluate test results and turn findings into actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development with customer needs.
What you'll need#
- Current junior or senior standing.
- Degree pursuit in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Ability to analyze structured data to identify patterns and trends in material behavior.
- Skill in developing structure-property relationships to guide material design.
- Strong foundation in materials science, data interpretation, and experimental analysis.
Location & details#
- Location: Lexington, Kentucky.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 (January 11th to August 13th).
- Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $22-$27 per hour.
- Note: This position does not offer a housing stipend or relocation support.
