About the role#
The Pharmacy Student Intern works at Methodist Hospital under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will support the pharmacy team by managing medication inventory, preparing compounds, and assisting with patient care tasks. This is a paid, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service and process outpatient prescriptions.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and deliver medications.
- Receive, stock, and reorder medications and supplies.
- Handle cash register transactions and assist the pharmacist as needed.
- Check work completed by pharmacy technicians (for 2nd-4th year students).
- Assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation (for 3rd or 4th year students).
- Support the Hospice Program Pharmacist with chart reviews (for 3rd or 4th year students).
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited professional pharmacy program.
- Registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern.
- A valid driver license and the ability to meet insurability requirements regarding motor vehicle violations.
- Familiarity with computer software and automated dispensing products is helpful.
Location & details#
- Location: Saint Louis Park, Minnesota.
- Schedule: One evening per week and every fourth weekend.
- Work modality: On-site.
