Intern - Corporate Internal Auditor

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term. As a Corporate Internal Auditor intern, you will support the organization's annual NI 52-109 certification process and gain hands-on experience in financial control evaluation.

What you'll do#

• Perform controls-based audit procedures to support annual certification requirements.
• Review audit samples and assist in evaluating the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of key internal controls over financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of audit procedures, findings, and supporting evidence.
• Communicate task progress proactively and escalate issues to audit leads.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure audit objectives and deadlines are met.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in the Carleton MAcc program while pursuing a CPA designation.
• Eligibility for a full-time co-op placement from September 2025 to April 2026.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting updates and findings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with audit or data analysis tools is considered an asset.
• Prior coursework or experience in auditing or accounting is preferred.
