Cayenta, a division of Harris, is seeking a Co-Op Student Developer to join our Research & Development team for an 8-month term. You will work on our Product Modernization project, gaining hands-on experience with technologies including Go, React, and GraphQL. This role involves working on challenging enterprise software systems under the mentorship of our development team.
What you'll do#
- Contribute software code to the Product Modernization project.
- Participate as a contributing member of the Cayenta software development team.
- Test developed features and code to ensure quality.
- Regularly report progress and identify potential blockers.
- Collaborate with other members of the development organization.
- Engage in team and company-based initiatives and discussions.
- Participate in a rotating role of coordinating product support.
- Receive and provide feedback on an ongoing basis.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th-year student in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Completed second-year coursework.
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, programming languages, and SQL.
- Rational and critical thinking skills with a focus on problem-solving.
- Superb written, verbal, and spoken communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position, though candidates must be able to travel to Burnaby, British Columbia, as required.
- This is a paid, full-time co-op opportunity.
- The term is based on a rolling schedule.
