About the role#
We are seeking an Industrial Design Intern for the Winter 2027 term. You will work with our in-house design team in Glen Allen, Virginia, to develop new product concepts. This is a full-time, hybrid position. You will contribute to the design process from initial ideation through to final prototyping.
What you'll do#
- Support new product design projects through concept development and universal design evaluation.
- Create hand-sketched concepts and photorealistic presentation renderings.
- Manage on-product graphic design and Visual Brand Language, including Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) documentation.
- Participate in the Design Thinking process, moving from immersion and ideation to prototyping.
- Apply a solid design process to your daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, entering at least your junior year by the start of the internship.
- Strong sketching and form-giving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience with Solidworks and Keyshot is preferred.
- Knowledge of 3D animation or UX/UI design is a plus.
- High attention to detail.
- Interest or experience in the housewares industry or cooking and food-related activities is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
