About the role#
Halff is hiring an intern for our Planning and Landscape Architecture team in Austin, Texas. This position begins in January 2027 and runs through the winter term. You will work within an interdisciplinary group of planners, engineers, and landscape architects on projects ranging from comprehensive plan preparation to active transportation and park planning.
What you'll do#
- Support senior staff with project tasks and plan development.
- Participate in public engagement activities.
- Write reports and produce project documents.
- Create computer-generated maps and graphic elements to convey project ideas.
- Collaborate with team members to assist client communities with their planning and design goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program for community or urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or a closely related field.
- Strong communication, relationship, and team building skills.
- Self-motivation and effective organization skills.
- Experience with or a desire to learn ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to produce maps, infographics, and professional documents.

- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, 8a-5p.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship. Halff does not provide or pay for housing.
