About the role#
Halff is seeking a GIS Intern to join the utility data management team in Fort Worth. This role focuses on supporting GIS mapping, database development, and field data collection for infrastructure projects including transportation, water, and stormwater systems. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Convert CAD files to GIS formats.
- Gather and interpret utility asset records and plans.
- Create and edit GIS files while analyzing spatial relationships within utility networks.
- Participate in map production, data integration, and data validation workflows.
- Support data quality reviews, asset inventory management, and technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Geography, Computer Science, or a related GIS field.
- Familiarity with core GIS concepts such as editing, topology, and spatial queries.
- Experience with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and suggest improvements to workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate results.

- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
