About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship position within the Gulf Coast Bank and Trust Company Summer Internship Program. The program runs from May 17, 2027, through July 23, 2027, with the potential to extend through mid-August. Interns are expected to participate in a final presentation in New Orleans on July 22, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Review and assist the SBA team with the loan application process to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Create and organize loan files to support efficient processing.
- Prepare initial financial spreads and partner with the underwriting team to move applications forward.
- Assist with imaging loan closing documents and review them for completeness.
- Partner with and support the servicing specialists team.
- Participate in tasks across other departments to gain broader company experience.
- Adhere to all internal policies, procedures, and practices.
- Comply with BSA, AML, and OFAC regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks and complete special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor degree program, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of motivation and initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well within a team.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
- Ability to sit at a desk for long periods and lift approximately 15 pounds.
