Oil and Gas Operator (Summer Student)

About the role#

GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd. is seeking an Oil and Gas Operator (Summer Student) for a full-time contract position at an oil blending facility in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This role provides hands-on experience in the energy sector, working alongside experienced operators to support daily plant operations. The position is intended for students who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and plan to return to their studies in the fall of 2026.

What you'll do#

• Support day-to-day operations at the oil blending facility.
• Monitor blending processes, equipment, and product quality.
• Perform routine equipment checks, gauge readings, and product sampling.
• Assist with the transfer, loading, and handling of product.
• Record operational data, complete shift logs, and maintain site documentation.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and on-the-job training.
• Maintain general housekeeping and upkeep of the work area.
• Follow all site safety procedures, permits, and standard operating procedures.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program with plans to return to studies in fall 2026.
• Academic background in Environmental, Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Genuine interest in the energy sector and a willingness to learn.
• Reliability and punctuality with the ability to commit to the full summer term.
• Comfort working in an industrial facility setting, including both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Physical capability to perform job duties, including standing and lifting.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and supervisor direction.

Location & details#

• Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.
• Term: Summer 2026 (approximately 2 to 3 months).
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime hours.
• Work Modality: On-site.
