About the role#
Greystone Construction is hiring a Construction Intern to join our team in Shakopee. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in Construction Management or a related field. You will work alongside Project Managers and Superintendents, gaining hands-on experience similar to an entry-level Project Field Engineer or Assistant Project Manager. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents across multiple construction projects.
- Assist with on-site supervision, scheduling, and project documentation.
- Help ensure site safety and compliance with company policies.
- Manage material procurement, identify subcontract scope gaps, and handle quality management and punch list tasks.
- Learn to estimate costs, solicit bids, and create project schedules.
- Provide administrative support and assist with special projects.
- Explore different areas of general operations to supplement your learning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management or related degree program, preferably in your final year.
- A willingness to learn, be mentored, and solve problems proactively.
- Strong time management skills and a focus on getting tasks finished.
- Uncompromising integrity and authenticity.
- Interest in integrated project delivery, process improvement, and construction technology.
- A fundamental understanding of plan reading, project documents, and construction processes.
- Experience with Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore or similar software is a plus.
- Previous internships in architectural, engineering, or commercial construction are preferred.
