About the role#
The Leadership Team serves as positive role models and mentors for youth participating in Christ-centered programs at The Simple Room. Team members work alongside staff and volunteers to support after-school programming, special events, outreach activities, and other ministry opportunities. This role offers hands-on experience to develop leadership, communication, teamwork, and ministry skills while making an impact on local children and teens.
What you'll do#
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for youth.
- Build meaningful relationships with students.
- Assist with daily programming to encourage personal, academic, and spiritual growth.
- Support after-school programming, special events, and outreach activities.
- Model Christ-like character as a positive example for youth.
What you'll need#
- Current Greenville University student in good academic standing.
- Eligible for the Greenville University Work-Study Program.
- Personal commitment to the Christian faith and willingness to support The Simple Room's mission and Statement of Faith.
- Passion for serving children, youth, and the local community.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow as a leader.
- Ability to pass required background screenings and onboarding.
- Availability to work during programming hours from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
