About the role#
The Greenville University Leadership Team serves as mentors and role models for youth participating in Christ-centered programs at The Simple Room. Team members work alongside staff and volunteers to support after-school programming, special events, and outreach activities. This role provides hands-on experience to build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while fostering personal and spiritual growth in children and teens.
What you'll do#
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students.
- Build meaningful relationships with participants to encourage their personal and academic growth.
- Assist with daily programming, special events, and ministry opportunities.
- Develop professional skills in leadership, communication, and teamwork.
- Serve as a positive example by modeling Christ-like character.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Greenville University in good academic standing.
- Eligibility for the Greenville University Work-Study Program.
- Personal commitment to the Christian faith and support for The Simple Room's mission and Statement of Faith.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable and responsible work ethic with the ability to collaborate in a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow.
- Ability to pass any required background screenings.
Location & details#
- Location: Greenville, Illinois.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Availability: Must be available to work during programming hours, Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- This is a paid, full-time student worker position with rolling terms.
