About the role#
The Humanities Division Administrative Assistant supports the operations and communal life of the division. You will assist faculty and the Division Chair with daily tasks, manage shared spaces, and help coordinate events. This role helps maintain an organized and hospitable environment for students and faculty.
What you'll do#
- Assist faculty and the Division Chair with copying, scanning, and course-related tasks.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming shared space.
- Organize and maintain departmental and divisional library resources, including books and periodicals.
- Help plan and execute Humanities Division programs and events, including setup and cleanup.
- Support communication needs and general secretarial tasks.
- Monitor and purchase supplies, track budgets, and report facility or equipment issues.
- Contribute to a welcoming and engaged academic environment.
What you'll need#
- Current major or minor within the Humanities Division.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Dependability and trustworthiness.
- Familiarity with relevant academic coursework and basic research practices.
- An interest in fostering hospitality and community.
