Property & Inland Marine Underwriting Intern

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to develop fundamental skills within the Property & Inland Marine division. You will work alongside experienced underwriters to gain an understanding of underwriting guidelines, policy language, classification, and pricing methodologies. The role is designed to build your knowledge of the underwriting discipline through a combination of daily tasks and special projects.

What you'll do#

• Review and analyze underwriting reports.
• Support underwriters with the coordination and processing of insurance policies.
• Enter policy information into the internal policy management system.
• Assist with marketing and administrative assignments.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in business administration, finance, economics, statistics, communications, or risk management and insurance.
• A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• A self-motivated approach to tasks.

• Location: Richardson, Texas.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: 15–20 hours per week during the school year, with the opportunity to work full-time during school breaks.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship.
