    About the role#

    This paid internship at WIFR offers an immersive, hands-on experience within the local broadcast media industry. Interns work directly with award-winning teams across various departments, gaining practical training and professional experience. The program is designed to prepare participants for potential full-time career opportunities within Gray Media.

    What you'll do#

    Interns gain experience in professional broadcast environments. Depending on station needs and your area of interest, you may be placed in departments including:

    • Marketing
    • Sales
    • Creative Services
    • Sports
    • Weather
    • News Production
    • News MMJ
    • Engineering

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a college or university, preferably as a Junior or Senior.
    • Pursuit of a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, News, Sports, or a related field.
    • A strong work ethic and solid organizational skills.
    • A genuine desire to gain hands-on experience in the local media industry.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Rockford, Illinois.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: Paid internship, with pay ranging from state minimum wage to $15 per hour.
