About the role#
Gordon Food Service offers a structured internship for students currently training to obtain their Class 1 license. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional transport environment, supported by experienced mentors. What you'll do#
- Operate company trucks in accordance with all current regulations.
- Perform mechanical inspections of equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Verify the accuracy of customer orders during delivery.
- Perform physical tasks including manual unloading and handling of daily shipments ranging from 5 to 70 pounds.
- Maintain high standards of customer service during all deliveries.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in CFTR or CFTC and eligibility for an internship.
- A valid Class 1 driver's license.
- A clean driving record.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
- Demonstrated autonomy, organization, and resourcefulness.
- Knowledge of the regional road network is considered an asset.
