About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship for PhD students. You will join a team to work on a specific project critical to Google. You will design, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions while collaborating with peers and managers. This role offers exposure to complex computer science challenges and the opportunity to contribute to systems that impact users globally.
What you'll do#
- Develop scripts to automate routine tasks.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to solve technical issues.
- Apply knowledge from your computer science coursework to real-world challenges.
- Design, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions.
- Create and support a productive, innovative team environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Computer Science or a related technical field in the US.
- Ability to work full-time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
- Status as a student in your penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after the internship.
- Coding experience in C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Research experience in areas such as Algorithms, Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, Compilers, Database, Data Mining, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, Networking, or Systems.
- Proficiency in computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- English proficiency.

- This is an on-site, full-time position for Summer 2027.
