About the role#
Golden Hippo is looking for a Social Media Intern to support our Financial Services brands during the Winter 2027 term. This position offers hands-on experience with content creation, data reporting, and industry-standard social media processes. This is a paid, full-time internship.
What you'll do#
- Support the social media team by creating content for our Financial Services brands.
- Shoot UGC-style video or photos at home or in the office.
- Build moodboards to support upcoming photoshoots.
- Design graphics for promotions, sales, and educational content.
- Ideate and create Instagram stories designed to drive website traffic and engagement.
- Monitor industry trends, relevant brands, and competitors to compile weekly reports for the social team.
- Assist with scheduling content using Vista Social.
- Pull and report monthly data in performance sheets.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing or a related field.
- Basic graphic design skills using tools like Canva or Adobe Spark.
- Knowledge of photography and video editing software such as iMovie, Adobe Premiere, or CapCut.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter (X), and Threads.
- Competency in Google Suite, including Sheets and Docs.
- Ability to track and interpret basic social media analytics like reach, engagement, and impressions.
- Skill in adapting writing tone to match specific brand voices.
- Familiarity with meme culture, viral content, and social media challenges.
- Creative problem-solving skills to produce eye-catching content.
- Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with the marketing team.
- Previous internship experience in the social media space is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is remote, but you must be local to the North LA area and willing to come into the office 2-4 times a month.
- The internship runs from January 11th to March 14th, 2027.
- The hourly pay range is $18 - $20, depending on factors such as experience and location.
