About the role#
GMi offers a full-time, paid internship for students interested in the commercial construction industry. You will gain hands-on experience in field operations, estimating, and project management. This role is designed to provide real-world responsibility and a foundation for a long-term career. We offer both summer and semester-long opportunities with the potential for future full-time employment based on performance.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside experienced construction professionals to gain field experience.
- Assist with layout, framing, drywall, and other daily jobsite activities.
- Support field leadership with material coordination, safety inspections, documentation, and quality control.
- Help Project Managers with budgeting, scheduling, submittals, and project documentation.
- Participate in progress walks, reporting, and production planning.
- Develop an understanding of construction documents, estimating processes, and budgeting tools.
- Build relationships with field teams, office staff, vendors, and clients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to work in both field and office environments.
- A positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.
- Self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
- The ability to communicate professionally and work well within a team.
- A clear interest in pursuing a long-term career in commercial construction.
- Prior construction experience is a plus.
