About the role#
George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is seeking a Project Intern to support our project management teams. This role provides hands-on experience in construction management through documentation, quantity tracking, and administrative support for subcontracts and purchase orders. You will work 40 to 45 hours per week, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
What you'll do#
- Track project quantities and pay items.
- Collect, organize, and maintain project documents.
- Administer subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Submit and log submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs.
- Maintain and update project plans.
- Communicate production rates and crew makeup.
- Propose priced changes and track extra work items.
- Submit closeout documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two or four-year undergraduate degree program, specifically in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Architecture, or Environmental Engineering.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid Motor Vehicle Record that meets company insurance requirements.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
- The primary location is Columbus, Ohio, with travel required to various job sites.
- This position is open on a rolling basis.
