About the role#
As a Software Developer Intern on the Genesys Cloud team, you will join an agile engineering group focused on reporting and data insights. You will contribute to the development of features across our cloud platform while gaining hands-on experience with modern engineering workflows and AI tools. This role offers mentorship and exposure to leadership across our Cloud business.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and test scalable features for reporting and analytics solutions.
- Use AI coding assistants and development tools to prototype, write, and refactor code.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and acceptance tests to ensure software stability.
- Participate in peer code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile team ceremonies.
- Maintain standards for security and data privacy, including HIPAA compliance.
- Bring enthusiasm and engage with your teammates.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with at least one modern programming language such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Java.
- Experience with Git version control systems like Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies, cloud architectures, and data stacks.
- Preferred: Experience or coursework in automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud services.
- Preferred: Exposure to data visualization, reporting pipelines, or API integrations.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience or experimentation with AI developer tools and agentic coding assistants.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with expectations to be in the office 1-2 days per week.
- Term: Summer 2027 (internship/co-op terms ranging from 8 to 16 months beginning in May or June 2027).
- Employment: Full time, paid internship.
