About the role#
The Onboard Autonomy team builds the real-time intelligence that allows autonomous vehicles to perceive their environment and plan safe movements. This internship involves a research or engineering project focused on the onboard driving stack. You will work alongside experienced engineers to prototype and evaluate algorithms using real-world driving data and simulation environments.
What you'll do#
- Prototype and test algorithms for perception, prediction, planning, trajectory generation, and controls.
- Analyze real-world data and simulation results to measure performance and investigate system failures.
- Build tools for data processing, visualization, and automated testing.
- Contribute to production-quality software through code reviews, design reviews, and documentation.
- Collaborate across technical disciplines and present your findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Experience in machine learning, computer vision, robotics, controls, or autonomous systems through research, projects, or professional work.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with C++ or another systems programming language.
